"In January 2011, AIS approached Moonstone for recommendations on how to cost-effectively revamp their website which was hard-coded and had no content management system. Before 2011, all changes were sent to an outside company to hand code and post. This made the site less dynamic than desired. The key to the overhaul was for AIS to be able to make their own changes with a very cost-effective content management system (CMS).
For the 2011 version of the AIS website, the content management system would serve as the core application for the new site. AIS employees would use its administrative console as their main interface to change content and images for the site.
Because costs were a concern, Moonstone strongly recommended Kentico, which they described as being a commercial system.
Per Moonstone, Commercial Systems provide the most robust solutions with the best user interfaces and a broad set of features, plus a single entity responsible for quality, performance and new feature releases. Market expertise is readily available for these systems. Kentico’s price was right (License fee = $2000) and the user interface was simple and intuitive. Plus, Kentico was robust enough to handle the requirements of the new website.
The learning curve was minimal when the company switched over to the new site. I spearheaded the website for AIS and I’m happy to answer any questions."
