Bella: I'm Bella Shaw.

Doug: I'm Doug Llewellyn.

William: I'm William Shatner; this is Heartbeat of America. Our show focuses on corporate America, its stories, its drama, its breakthrough. We'll be going out today to report on an organization that is impacting our lives and shaping our future, an organization that truly is the heartbeat of America.

Doug: Part of keeping America strong lies in helping businesses to communicate their ideas, vision, their products, their services, their image, and their brands on one of today's most important mediums, the internet. Our guest today does that and a lot more. His company designs and builds marketing programs on corporate websites, creating a powerful web presence for companies who recognize the internet is a key in their marketing, and we're about to find out just how his company goes about doing it.
Our guest is the President and the CEO of a company with the intriguing name of Moonstone Interactive. It's headquartered in San Ramon, California, which as you know is in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'd like you to meet him now. His name is Stephen Hertz. Stephen, welcome. Nice to have you here.

Stephen: Thank you very much, Doug.

Doug: You are welcome.

Stephen: It's a pleasure to be here.

Doug: Let me ask you a little bit about what some of the problems are. Of course, you're in a business now, and you're dealing with companies who really are trying to get a presence on the web. What are the big problems they face in getting their voice out there on the internet?

Stephen: One of the big problems is there's a lot of websites, so they really need to be recognized and stand out, and have their website truly represent who they are as a company, what their brand is, and what services and products they offer.

Doug: Why has the web become so blooming important?

Stephen: It's so convenient. If you need information on any product, any service, any piece of information, any company, you go to the internet. It's very easy. You just type something into a search engine, and wham, you get information instantaneously about your concern or interest.

Doug: I remember a business executive saying to me, I guess 3 or 4 years ago, he said, "If you don't have a website, if you're not on the web right now, in 3 or 4 years from now, you're going to be out of business." It probably has turned out to be that way. The web has just become so critical.

Stephen: It is critical, but not only do you need a website, you need a website that positions your company well.

Doug: One that works.

Stephen: One that works.
